Mitt’s got a CEO’s eye. Risk is evaluated on a day-to-day stock trader’s basis. He may have an extremely high risk of not being elected with this waffley bullshit strategy, but he’s got a very low risk of plummeting his Intrade stock on any given day.

It’s a feature of the modern businessman’s mindset, not a bug.

I’d say he has the ability to be more far-seeing if he wishes. Bain’s merger of two small steel companies to form Steel Dynamics is some evidence of that.
