On the Internet, everything is forever. And if one side of a conversation deletes emails, don’t expect the other side to have done the same. Subpoenas and FOIA will claw back all those loose ends, and see who said what to who and who deleted what (indicating a further coverup).

That these folks were doing so on “private” emails shows that they knew they were up to no good and that this wasn’t through official channels. There was nothing legitimate about these lane closures.

It was a political vendetta.
