The whole event is a massive spin exercise. It’s designed to divert attention away from 0bama’s idiotic “I don’t have all the facts, but the police are stupid” comment, and channel it on to an entirely different topic. It’s an attempt to talk about something - anything - else, and leave 0’s prejudicial knee spasm in the dust.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Gates directly address the whole “profiling” issue with Crowley. As long as Crowley then directly questions 0bama on his rush to judgment and labeling of cops as “stupid” without knowing all the facts.

But that’s not going to happen.

Second choice: I’d like to see Gates show up drunk, screaming about “crackers” and throw up on a Secret Service agent before passing out and crushing a prized rose specimen on the way down. Which has as much chance of happening as my first suggested outcome.
