Yes. Clearly Flint, Michigan’s decline had nothing to do with General Motors management, disinvestment, “white flight”, the oil crisis of the 70s, outsourcing, and the lack of factory modernization. It was just the unions and the criminal element.

Well, outsourcing and white flight are both symptoms, not causes.

A badly led union will insist on the impossible. That’s quite sufficient to ruin an industry. Throw in crime, and there is no need of further explanations.
