The GOP has painted themselves into a corner here, big time.

If they fail to confirm Kavanaugh, the evangelicals threaten to stay home during the midterms.

And if they do confirm Kavanaugh, they stand to lose the lion’s share of the women’s vote, except maybe for those women in that CNN video.

And all the while, while Grassley tries mightily not to look like he’s utterly failing at pushing Kavanaugh through, Kavanaugh himself is, to borrow a term from the Watergate era, twisting in the wind.

And all this is happening on a weekend, when things are supposed to be quiet. Something’s gotta give here…
