re: #205 SasyMomaCat

One of mine got real weak while he was having hyperthyroid issues. Couldn’t jump a lick and the failed attempts were more pathetic than anything. Apartment had “ramps” in three rooms so that he could work his way to couch/bed level in easy steps.

He’s gotten better, but still nowhere near standard cat ability. And he prefers using the one “ramp” left in the bedroom than attempting the bed in a single bound. (One recent attempt to do that resulted in the cat doing a face-plant directly into the side of the bed. Looked like something out of a Coyote-Roadrunner cartoon.)

The one cat that I had put down went down quietly. With his advancing kideny failure he’d lost all his body fat and couldn’t heat regulate. His last evening was at the vet’s under a heat blanket and he actually looked fairly content despite the strange surroundings. Quick shot into his IV and it was over in seconds. Over a year ago, and I still expect to see him appear every so often, or to hear him come walking through the apartment crying for attention.
