Saying that you have to be an atheist to accept evolution is like saying you have to be an atheist to accept chemistry.

If you insist on a literal interpretation of the Bible, then you have to reject almost all science - and logic as well - as the Bible contradicts itself in several places.

Good luck surviving in the modern world without the aid of “atheistic” scientists, engineers and technicians.
