I don’t know who that guy is, but it’s worth noting that Bush gave similar speeches while president. He defended Muslim Americans after 9/11 - at a time when it would have been very easy to go the opposite way. Bush has been consistent on these ideals, despite, as I said uptread, his several other flaws.

So, if you read Bush’s comments and take offense, the problem probably isn’t that Bush has gone off reservation.

Yes, that was in fact the high point of his disastrous presidency.
