It was a still a white person erasing the cultural identity of a Mexican director. Of course, Mr Cuaron doesn’t need me to play “white savior” and defend him, but it struck me as utterly asinine and vulgar. I know there are color bigotries in Latino culture (I lived in Miami for awhile) but another Anglo-Saxon/Celtic dude in the UK has no business telling Latino people what stories they own. Jesus.
