BTW, went to a period-unspecific (but anachronistic) picnic in Saratoga, CA Sunday. We had cuties in Gibson-girl era dresses. I actually did not wear black! Wore brown/dark blue-striped pants, white tux shirt with French cuffs, medium blue double breasted waistcoat (i.e., vest, which was squared off at the waist) and a maroon/gold striped cravat. Well, black boots.

That sounds gorgeous. I am going to a certain well-known, Atlanta-based sci fi/fantasy/pop culture convention next weekend. There’s a new Alternate History track (time travel, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, that sort of thing). I got a rather plain Jane late Victorian skirt and blouse. It’s no where near authentic - there is polyester involved - but it’s pretty cute and didn’t bust the budget. If I really get into it, I’d like something nicer for next year.
