I had 2 friends (knew both over 30 years) die within 30 days of each other about a year and a half ago. Also had a friend kill himself 4 or 5 years ago and another friend’s brother killed himself 2+ years ago.

-Went to my best friend’s funeral.
-The other friend that died had a private service because of his immediate family. (Bible thumpers who hated his friends)
-Didn’t go to either funeral of the ones who offed themselves. It’s one of my rules.
Now, is your friend really suicidal or did he just say stoopid shit to amp up the tensions?

In the last 6 years I’ve had 3 friends kill themselves. 2 were military buddies that were very unstable before they joined (one had the nickname “crazy 8” in the marines) and the other was my best friend from HS that had been “trying” to kill himself for 20 years. I went to the funerals of 2 of the 3, one was in FLA and I couldn’t get away to go. Don’t not go because you think suicide is the weak way out. It is but some people aren’t strong enough to push on. Sometimes it’s a medical reason and sometimes it’s just weakness but either way they can’t help it.
