That remind me to post today’s Libya story:

UN clears Greek-seized armoured vehicles for delivery to Libya

The United Nations (UN) has ruled that a shipment of 16 armoured vehicles destined for Libya that were seized by Greece were being legally transferred.

Greece announced in July that it had seized the vehicles (eight Streit Group Typhoon 4x4 mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles, five armoured Toyota Land Cruisers, two armoured BMW sedans, and one armoured Mercedes sedan) during a port call by the merchant vessel MV Tychy to Piraeus.

Greece seized the vehicles believing their transfer was in breach of UN Resolution 1970/2013, paragraph 9 of which bans the trade of weapon systems with Libya.

However, the UN has now cleared the vehicles for release, after the internationally recognised Libyan government (in Tobruk) claimed ownership of the vehicles.

Those MRAPs are going to go to Benghazi after they arrive and are armed, once there their guns are going to help fight Daesh.
