Thanks OA. I’m definitely thinking about Number 1 here. Women Democratic voters didn’t thikn Heath Mello was a strong enough supporter of their rights. I’m sorry but it’s very easy for men like the three of us to just dismiss that as a purity pony issue. I’m not doubting your pro-choice support AM, I do think you should understand why the reports of Mello’s record on the matter bothered many women Democratic voters.

And as noted by me (looking up his legislative record at the time, and in The Nation article above), those reports were wrong.
