GOP Health Care Speaker: A Birther

re: #240 Gus 802

Here, I’ll simplify it. The Republican party is being hypocritical because after spending several weeks spreading the “death panel” hysteria had Rep. Charles Boutany, a co-sponsor of identical legislation to the “death panel” language found on Section 1233 of HR 3200, do a rebuttal regarding the very same language included in the legislation that the president had endorsed and did endorse in tonight’s speech. The committee you speak of is that same section, 1233.

That’s all I will say about this tonight. I don’t think you’re reading my links.

This will be my last attempt as well. In order for the GOP to be hypocritical, they have to have been spreading the message that the “Death Panels” were doctors providing end-of-life counseling, and simultaneously support end-of-life counseling.

But as I’ve shown, directly from the original source, “Death Panel” refers to a committee deciding whether or not an individual citizen deserves treatment in the nationalized health care industry. Rep. Charles Boutany did not sponsor legislation to nationalize the health care industry (which would result in government rationed health care), so therefore it is not a case of hypocrisy.

I have to get some sleep, so I won’t respond further tonight. I will come back tomorrow morning to read any comments you leave, so feel free to challenge my assertions if you wish.
