He never cared whether it hurt other people. Most of the tech billionaires don’t care about whether their products hurt others — they care about creating something new and exciting and making money.

OTOH it’s not only tech billionaires who are like that — the pharmaceutical heads didn’t care when they marketed the highly addictive opioids nor tobacco companies care that their products kill millions. Hmmm — maybe the issue is that many people don’t care what they do as long as they acquire great wealth in the process.
