I’m sure you’re right and there’s some money grabbing going on in this bill— like in every bill, esp large ones rammed through congress.

I don’t think it bothers me that the bottom 20% in terms of income will see a tiny benefit of 40 dollars a year— assuming this chart even winds up being accurate.

And it should be noted that there is a gross cost of 425 per year to that bottom quintile— it’s only after all the deductions etc that it works out to a savings of 40 bucks a year.

Again, this is only assuming the CBO got it right. Which, frankly, who the hell knows?

So he’s going to raise 80% of ours energy bills to provide relief to the bottom 20% and try and sell us the lie that he is not raising taxes, just the cost of everything we use. Sorry if I don’t fall for that line of bullshit.
