There was no “mutiny” involved. The called-up major applied for conscientious objector status based on his concern that should anything irregular be found in the legal ability of the Commander in Chief to perform that function under the Constitution, international treaties, or international law, he (the major) might be vulnerable to being charged with war crimes.
