i’ve said it before
- you do all the hearings, in nauseating detail
- you make it plain as day
- you prepare articles
- and don’t vote on them

- can even go so far as to say publicly:

“here’s the evidence. we all know. Unfortunately the senate decided long ago, before we even started investigating, that they would vote to clear him no matter what. They said it on television.”

Nah, you still vote on it. Force every Republican on the record. Spend the next decade campaigning against them as the party of corruption. Force them to own it.

McConnell is probably facing his last election - he’s 77, he’ll be 78 on election day in 2020, which means he’d be 84 if he ran again in 2026. But there are plenty of other Republicans who are going to have to live with being the party of corruption for a decade or two.
