Sounds about right, he refused a lawyer or to talk without one, then when it became clear he wasn’t just going to be let go agreed to one but only if the Guardian picked up the tab which meant they had to find one on short notice and bus him/her over, then continued to use the lawyer and the language barrier to stall for as long as possible. Would not surprise me that he was told if he could hold out until the 9 hour mark, he’d just be allowed to walk.

Sounds more and more like a blatant publicity stunt. These people suck. The Guardian is trying its damndest to become Lefty Fox News and that’s not a title they should want.
