I notice that many Western nations flinch away from formal charges of treason (mostly because crimes that satisfy the definition are exceedingly rare) and I’ve seen that alot of people shy away from even using the word.
I won’t call it a weakness of democracies, because elements can and do misappropriate the term in its strictest sense… the very application of anti-treason laws does tend to undermine the more liberal aspirations of a nation.
But if Trump’s actions seriously don’t trend towards the integral compromisation of the nation’s security in the face of a hostile country’s covert attempts to influence an election, then the only factor mitigating his culpability would be his personal incompetence.
But considering the people he has surrounded himself with, and his unwillingness to even remain informed of developments pretty much seals it for me.

Trump is a fucking traitor.
