This is where “atheists are just mad at God” comes from. If you’re mad at God, you’re a believer. To an atheist, being mad at the Christian God makes as much sense as being mad at Zeus or Batman. However, simple absence of belief is something that a fundy believer just cannot wrap their heads around.

You can be mad at the church, though. God might not exist, but churches sure do.

And yet, a lot of people who purport to believe in God do a lot of sinning. And I’m not talking about a brief slip-up. I mean embezzling over a period of years, carrying on affairs over time, etc. You’d think if they really believed, they’d straighten up and fly right. Forgiveness for sins is great, but I think you are supposed to actually repent and not just be gaming the system.
