Totally O/T but my high school (established in 1926) is being demolished this week.
Three generations of MrB_S’s family attended, taught math/science and/or were members of the administration of that school district. One of the grade schools (also slated for demolition) is named for one of his ancestors.
All of the grade schools, the junior high (which I attended the very first year it opened) and high school have been consolidated into one huge pre-K through 12 “education complex”. I’m sure it’s very nice and state-of-the-art. But I haz a huge sad.
And feeling very, very old…

My old high school, built in 1922, was an iconic symbol of Detroit. It was closed in 2005 and demolished in 2011. The actual school was moved to a new campus several blocks away.
