I just don’t know.
From what I’m seeing folks post on their FB pages, I believe their ears will be more open now than they were before, to the incendiary rhetoric. And these are the folks who will be voting. And not a single one of them would have a problem voting conservative Dem rather than Rep … if the Dems are smart, they can make some inroads. If the Reps are smart, they’ll find some smarter, more serious folks to run. If the Reps don’t - they’re gonna lose.

If we were try to come up with a working definition of a “common-sense conservative” (I just made that term up, I think), what would it be?

Is that a fiscal conservative less the socon baggage?

Is it someone who believes that tax cuts have to get paid for just like program costs?

What would their manifesto be?
