Ours too when I was a kid in Enid, OK. Glass bottles with the little cardboard tops that fit inside the rim. Our milkman walked right in the house through the back door, looked in the fridge to see what we had and left what we needed. Grabbed the empty bottles from the thingie on his way out.

We had a little six space metal rack with a handle. The truck stopped by, and if there were two milk bottles, a chocolate milk and an orange juice in the rack, he would replace the rack with the same. He’d then ring the doorbell, or knock.

Yes, we got orange juice from the dairy. For some time that was actually Isaly’s Dairy, then it became Page’s.

And those were the days when the economy and work supported mom being home to get the milk in.
