The roof of a Mercury Cougar was blown off. The windshield was sent flying a hundred feet.

That is not supposed to happen ever. MVSS requirements say so. Windshields are never ever supposed to fly off a car regardless. The glass should bust out before the bonding agent fails. Somewhere there is a car guy hoping that windshield was replaced along the way and it didn’t come from the factory like that.
