And the written Chinese? Do you understand most of it? Understanding a spoken language is usually harder, esp. what with all the tones. But the Chinese hieroglyphics are such a special case, where you prolly can’t depend on intuition and context most of the time, you just have to know the meaning of any given symbol. Or am I wrong?
