I’m a big fan of Gilliam’s movies. Before driving over him, I’d like to learn a bit more about what she meant by “endless bullying” by him.

Some directors are extremely tough on actors trying to get them to give more than they are, maybe not understanding the part as the director sees it, etc.

IIRC, Stanley Kubrick basically drove Shelley Duvall to the brink of a total nervous breakdown while filming The Shining. It’s one of the reasons her performance comes across the way it does.
