Maybe it’s because I grew up at the tail end of GenX when most safety precautions were still more suggestions than requirements, but I do sometimes feel bad for kids these days…
Some fond and not so fond memories as a kid:
Seat belts being option, especially on long car rides. No helmets when riding bikes. Riding in the bed of a pick up truck. My orthodontist/dentist/doctor not wearing gloves and just washing hands between patients. Not wearing life jackets on boats.
