I’m sure there are plenty of problems with Kasich, but he is one of the few conservative christians I know of willing to acknowledge that the government has any role to play in providing for the poor as Christ commanded. This, of course, probably renders him unelectable in the GOP presidential race.

Kasich does have a human side. He lost his folks in a car accident and shares a bond with Biden that way about losing loved ones in a tragic accident. When Beau died, Kasich talked about that. And you’re right, that does probably disqualify Kasich. If he were to start talking about that in the primaries, he’d get booed off the stage.
