Also, President Obama has a lot on his plate: economic downturn, two foreign wars, unemployment and so forth. Skipping a party to get to get straight to work probably isn’t the worst thing in the world.

No. Everyone should consider that the numbers were not vastly increased. They were far below the estimate. So stop with that excuse. As for your second paragraph, I hope you forgot your sarc tag.
