Not exactly encouraging, that 59% of the world population either believes that the world was created by some supreme being or are too apathetic to care either way.

I don’t think it’s 59 percent:

But only 28 percent believe in creationism, the belief that a god created humans, compared to 41 percent who believe in human evolution and 31 percent who simply don’t know what to believe.

Looks like the majority believes in evolution.
