Well, we have to be honest and recognize that Flake (or Corker) isn’t a liberal or even a conservative Democrat. His objection to Trump is partly about Trump’s deviation from traditional Republican positions on trade and immigration and partly about Trump’s behavior. About the only overlap between Flake and most Dems would be on immigration, Cuba.

Specific policy positions are almost irrelevant in this ongoing disaster. Flake should switch parties because the Republicans are just that toxic.

Are you willfully stupid, a crank, monstrously greedy and/or a bigot? If yes, you’re a good match for the Republican party. If no, you’d best oppose the Republicans as much as possible.
