I don’t think he’ll see citizens rally around him. I doubt he’d get much benefit from having an actual attack here.

DT’s supporters are isolationists. Isolationists hate foreign entanglements. Therefore it’s not a good idea to start a war.

This far into his term, a foreign attack would be “on his watch,” and only the most hardcore of his supporters (17% is the number of US evangelicals) wouldn’t blame him.
