I think so. They are equating racism and conservatism themselves. It’s not lefties equating the two, conservatives are doing it. Hot Airheads spend a lot of time talking about how the word “racism” no longer has any meaning. They find it liberating.

Hiding behind the veil of “political incorrectness”. Since it is well known that liberals are overly sensitive lefty pinkos only a liberal would ever be insulted by a “politically incorrect” statement. These are not conservatives. These are, pardon my language, assholes. They are using a tired old talking point about political correctness and the dangers thereof as a carte blanche to spew their bile and then hide behind the skirts of conservatism. This is a pretty pathetic strategy in itself but it becomes really dangerous when a lot of people who claim to be conservatives actually start supporting and defending that kind of behavior. In some misguided attempt at a Big Tent strategy they fill the tent with racists, religious freaks and lunatics. No wonder any moderate will quickly start looking for the exit.
