Don’t see that working. We’re talking about teens. They don’t have dirt in their backgrounds. They’ve just survived a mass shooting and are thus very sympathetic characters.

I wish Democrats would just come out and call the NRA exactly what it is: a terrorist group with no redeeming qualities.

And do you really think “lack of dirt” on, say, the teen Parkland survivors is likely to stop any gun-nut troll (or more likely, swarms of them) from going after them with as maximally vile, hateful and borderline-violent campaign as they can manage? Hopefully mainly online, though RL harassment is always possible, too. Ordinary kids can, and often do, get disgustingly harassed even without a “political” component to it: sadly, stepping on the toes of a [legal, nationwide, well-financed] terrorist-supporting group like the NRA can only make it worse.
