No, the truth is not likely somewhere in between.

It’s fine to dislike Kerry for his actions of throwing his medals away. Or for any other reason.

But casting doubt on whether or not he deserved the medals he won, doubt sown by men who were not present at the time, most of whom didn’t serve with him, and most of whom can be easily shown to be politically motivated— that is low, low, low. And it harms every other member of the military to do so.

It was an awful, terrible smear. I wish I could say it was a low point in US politics, but it was rather the sign at the top of the slope.
