re: #243 Charles Johnson

I’m not suggesting that, at all. My point is that we need to find a way to fight back against a vicious adversary that doesn’t care about ethics or morals, because simply behaving decently is not getting the job done.

I’ve often posted about how Dems need far better “lizard brain” messaging - a way to appeal to low-info/unlikely voters who respond to whoever best appeals to their hopes, fears, and frustrations at an emotional level. Wonky policy discussions do shit for people like that, but something short and snappy and memorable gets their attention (so…#NotOnePenny is a lousy hashtag because it makes no sense without context/explanation, but #TrumpTaxScam and #GOPTaxScam are great because the point registers instantly)

Also, they could take at least some of the advice in this comment by negativ:

I have to admit that I’m pissed off by the lack of hellfire coming from the Dems. They have nothing to lose by going full-throttle attack mode. I’m not a Democrat, but the Republicans have more or less declared themselves the enemy of my country as I see it, and of myself personally.

I would like to see Democrats become vicious, underhanded, unfair, brutal, merciless, and relentless. The GOP is by any measure a confederacy of dunces. That the Dems can’t find it in themselves to destroy it is disheartening.
