The Illinois General Assembly loves to tell local school districts “you have to [fill in the blank]” then gives them no money to actually do it (not to mention that the state tax cap laws keep their revenue stagnant). It’s out of control.

The Legislators who do it get to posture about how they’re “helping schools” and then they can shuffle any failures off onto someone else. It’s a perfect politician’s scam. Well, hopefully some of those assholes get voted out this year. I also hope we get rid of Pat “raise income taxes” Quinn.
