Given the choice between overreacting to a threat and wasting everyone’s time, and underreacting and potentially losing your job, it’s easy to overreact.

Understood. That’s why I stated they should investigate first. Is the threat credible or is it a hoax? If credible, by all means shut down the school. But if it’s a hoax, it needs to be treated like this.

$10,000 cash bail ordered for Edmonds teens in school threats case

EDMONDS, Wash. - A judge has ordered bail set at $10,000 cash for each of two teenagers accused of making violent threats on social media against others at Edmonds Woodway High School.

This story should not be limited to just the Seattle area. It should be sent to every school in the U.S. and the students told, you pull something stupid like this and it’s going to cost you and then follow through.
