IIRC I read an article where Lt. Col. Grossman has briefed / taught troops prior to deployment. Training them for the mind set it takes in combat. Part of study. Those briefed did better emotionally after combat.

I do have to note, though, that one of his big predictions from On Killing has not played out. He thought that the last decade would seem an exploding homicide rate in the US, due to operant conditioning brought about by “stalk and shoot” gaming. In reality, the homicide rate has declined.
