That’s true, but the same could be said of me. I’ve always been able to get sick time when I needed it, though when I took medical leave last year most of it was unpaid. Thank you FMLA still for having it available, still, because it saved my job for a year.

The Family Medical Leave Act passed the House on February 3, 1993, by a vote of 265-163. The final vote passed with 224 “aye” votes from Democrats, compared with 29 “nay” votes. Republicans in the House voted 40-134 against the FMLA.

In the Senate, the vote was 71-27. 25 of the 27 “nay” votes were from Republicans.

You probably knew this, however.
