Being a journalist doesn’t make you immune to being charged with espionage.

But being charged and being convicted are two different things and that’s where Greenwald may take solace. With the right dudebros makeup of the jury, he might come out unscathed, or emboldened to do even more “reporting”.

It’s pretty unlikely that Greenwald will be charged with crimes, but I think it’s very telling that he’s so upset at the suggestion. If he were completely secure in the knowledge he hadn’t done anything wrong, he wouldn’t be in such a frenzy over this. Seriously — he’s been ranting about it non-stop all week.
