Honestly I don’t trust Steyer at all. His nextgen climate ads during the election and the needtoimpeach site all strike me as primarily geared towards raising Tom’s public stature and helping him build a mailing list for a likely 2018 run at becoming Governor of California. I’m sure he wants Feinstein’s Senate seat more but her decision to run for re-election makes that a harder race for him to win.

Still, Twitter’s action here seems just as cynical and/or the product of automated abuse by right wingers. Twitter probably doesn’t like the idea of a billionaire like Steyer using their platform as part of his ad campaign without paying for it.
