Sure, the GOP Senate minority has already dealt in an unprecedented number of cloture votes, an unprecedented number of arbitrary holds on nominees, and basically requires 60 votes to move any legislation to the floor (also unprecedented), but even by those already dysfunctional standards this is pretty impressive:

Wasn’t Shelby involved in the “nuclear option” nonsense of the 2005 Senate, along with Bill Frist, which was over Democrats delaying about 20% of GWB’s judicial appointees - and the Republican majority back then was only 55-45.

Shelby’s also a ‘birther’.
