No, Stabby, the past actually is real. It is not potential. It happened.

To talk about the nature of something as ephemeral as “a religion” and not care about the present is to be NOT be talking about the state of existing societies. The state of societies is what matters here.

Why, again, are you lying and claiming I’m saying that don’t care about the present? I am really, really clearly saying you have to analyze the past along with the present.
