re: #119 Charles

It’s like the Twilight Zone. Rush Limbaugh has convinced all these people that he never said anything racist, just by focusing on two quotes that were not properly sourced (but not shown to be false).

I’ve just added SIX racist and/or race-baiting quotes above that are not disputed.

By focusing on the questionable quotes, Rush and his groupies hope to distract those who aren’t paying attention. Defense lawyers use this trick all the time: they harp on the things the police did wrong, hoping the jury will focus on the irregularities and miss the overwhelming evidence of guilt.

The media is, of course, partly to blame. By failing to do even the least bit of fact-checking (newsflash to CNN: Wikipedia is a good starting point for your research, but it is not a valid source in and of itself), the media allowed Rush to keep the conversation on the questionable quotes: NOT the call for segregation in “Obama’s America” from just this past month.

This whole thing also tells me that Rush would have been a terrible owner. He knew he was trying to buy the Rams when he went off on that rant about segregation in Obama’s America. If there was ever a time when he should have minded his P’s and Q’s, that was it. The fact that he couldn’t control himself tells me that he actually has a deep-seated hatred for black people, to borrow Glenn Beck’s phrase.

And as an aside… Sam Bradford just hurt his shoulder again!
