The people you know who sincerely believe that (evangelicals?) are beyond hope, so I’d suggest you not even bother. The trick is to look at the larger group to which they belong and peel away the ones who might still be open to reason and genuine (as opposed to “alternative”) facts.

Anymouse made some good points about this earlier.

I know. I was exaggerating a little bit. But, there are some people around me that I would consider reasonable Republicans that would not vote Democrat, even if they think there should be more spending on education, health care, and even support contraception and paying for child care. And I truly haven’t figured out how to get through to these people.
