Each of the tribes have a blood quota? quorum? in which they’ll recognize you. I would think the census numbers includes them. I think the Cherokees have tightened that up a bit, seeing as everyone has a grandmother who was a Cherokee princess. (Little Indian humor there.)

Blood quota, interesting concept. I could easily check “native american” on the census questionairre. It seems that so much of the data is subjective and therefore not always meaningful (depending on the context).
