I should have quoted their deman…er, their “requests”:

Translation: “We want the power to turn this inquiry into a three-ring circus!”

They get to do everything they requested in a Senate trial, if impeachment charges are referred.

The defence doesn’t get to cross-examine witnesses or call experts if a prosecutor hasn’t brought a case. If they want to argue this should run like a trial rather than an impeachment, that’s how it works.

They really want to go down with the Trumptanic, don’t they? The smart cowards already left Congress.
