Ann Coulter is being an idiot again. She’s asserted that civil rights are for blacks, not immigrants.

People are people, and the point of civil rights was and is that people are legally equal. There’s some idea in there about having certain rights because you are a people, like the right to own your heart and mind, and the right to speak what you feel to be the truth, without regard to your skin color. Something about being treated the same by our government. Help me out here, I’m floundering around trying to express what I think.

Oh, and the right not to be victimized with impunity, which many illegal immigrants are.

Apparently Ann is of the opinion that we have to treat immigrants very, very badly for a couple of hundred years before we have to start treating them like people.
